Inlays and Onlays are considered to be indirect fillings and are custom made in a laboratory to fit the specific size and shape of the cavity. This restoration is then cemented in place You would be recommended Inlays & Onlays when your tooth structure cannot be maintained because of the regular filling.

What is the difference between inlays and onlays?

Inlays are bonded to the premolar or molar tooth. Whereas onlays also fit inside the tooth but extend to the chewing surface of the molars or premolars.
